Samsung introduced its most complete foldable lineup yet at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22, 2026: the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra, and Z Flip8. Flex Titanium: Thinner, Lighter, and More Durable

All three models debut Samsung's new Flex Titanium technology — a titanium-alloy film paired with an enhanced titanium plate that lets the hinge fold thinner while staying durable, with a smoother fold feel and a noticeably less visible crease. Combined with an Armor aluminum frame and IP48 water resistance (dust particles larger than 1mm; submersible to 1.5m for 30 minutes) across the board, it's the most refined hinge generation yet:

• Z Fold8: 201g — Samsung's lightest Galaxy Z Fold to date, at just 4.5mm unfolded.
• Z Fold8 Ultra: 215g at only 4.1mm unfolded — the slimmest Z Fold design Samsung has shipped.
• Z Flip8: 180g at 6.1mm unfolded — Samsung's slimmest and lightest Flip yet.

How the Three Models Compare

All three ship with Android 17 and One UI 9, and are backed by Samsung's commitment of up to 7 major Android upgrades.

Camera Standouts

The Fold8 Ultra takes the biggest camera leap: a 200MP wide sensor now shoots HDR directly in full 200MP mode, joined by a new 50MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. It also introduces 8K video recording via Samsung's new APV codec, along with Cine LUT color grading and improved Nightography for low light.

The Fold8 gets a new My FanCam mode that automatically tracks a subject and reframes footage to your preferred aspect ratio, plus Dual Recording using both the cover and main cameras at once. The Flip8 leans further into its FlexCam heritage with a new Camcorder Grip and Zoom Rocker, Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, FlipShot, and a Mirror view mode — all built around its ProVisual Engine-powered 10MP selfie camera.

Galaxy AI Goes Further

Software is where this generation pushes hardest. Now Brief returns with more personalized daily insights and now flags security or privacy risks alongside your schedule, while a new Now Nudge feature turns those insights into proactive next-step suggestions instead of just information. Gemini Intelligence can now automate tasks across more than 40 apps and services, and a new Gemini Notebook brings notes, images, and files into a single workspace with Split view drag-and-drop support.

On the Flip8, the FlexWindow cover screen is now positioned as fully "AI-native" — Now Brief and Gemini automation are reachable straight from the side key or by voice, without opening the phone. All three models connect with the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, Galaxy Watch9, and Samsung's upcoming intelligent eyewear, and lean on Samsung Knox, Knox Vault, and a new One UI 9 "AI Assistant Activity" dashboard for privacy and security controls.

Colors and Launch Perks

Graphite and Cream are shared across all three devices. Each model also gets its own exclusive shade — Violet Shadow for the Fold8 Ultra, Lavender for the Fold8, and Pink for the Flip8 — plus a Samsung.com-only online exclusive: Green Shadow, Pistachio, and Mint, respectively.

Buyers also get a 6-month free trial of Google AI Pro (5TB of cloud storage), an updated Smart Switch with QR-code wireless migration from iOS, and Quick Share now works directly with AirDrop.
